Dale Farm - Group Overview

Environment

As a leading dairy processor, we are very aware of our responsibility to protect the environment and minimise our environmental footprint and to develop sustainable business processes. We are therefore committed to adopting good environmental practices throughout our business.

We are continually striving to improve our environmental performance and regularly review, update and improve our approach, processes and systems to ensure we minimise our environmental footprint.
We have reviewed all of our activities and identified 6 key areas of environmental impact

  • Water consumption
  • Effluent generation, treatment and recycling/disposal
  • Energy consumption, especially carbon based sources
  • Waste generation and recycling/disposal
  • Packaging use
  • Chemical use

In order to reduce the impact in these areas our key environmental initiatives include:

  • Full compliance with statutory regulations and registrations
  • Adopting good environmental practice through our Group
  • Having effective environmental management systems in place
  • Reducing the amount of energy, water and chemicals we use
  • Reducing the amount of product packaging we use and making our product packaging easier to recycle and recover
  • Reducing the environmental footprint through implementing improvement programs and setting site specific targets
