Dale Farm Launches Mega-Sized ‘Mega Milk’
With latest research proving that eating breakfast is key to improving pupil attentiveness and memory skills, a unique milk produced by Dale Farm is aiming to help give the ‘class of 2008’ the ‘brain power’ to maintain Northern Ireland’s position at the top of the UK exam result tables next year also.
Coinciding with the back to school period when around 330,000 local children, and consumers generally, will be struggling to return to ‘active mode’ after the summer holidays, Dale Farm has launched family-sized Mega Milk, containing Omega 3, a nutrient linked to improving concentration and productivity levels, as well as extra vitamins and folic acid.
A first for NI as the only locally produced milk to contain these added nutrients, Mega Milk was piloted in a one-litre format earlier this year but now, in response to uptake by local families keen to get more ‘power from their pinta’, Dale Farm has re-launched the product in a two-litre, semi-skimmed family pack. 100% natural, it is also low in fat. To ensure that consumers benefit from all the goodness in Mega Milk, Dale Farm has invested in special packaging designed to protect the product from the UV rays in sunlight which can degrade the vital vitamins and nutrients in the milk.
“There is no doubt that a nutritious breakfast is great fuel for the day ahead and the latest scientific research shows that it makes a real difference to the productivity of school-children, improving their attentiveness and mood, as well as helping them perform better in visual memory tests,” says Dale Farm’s Brian Beattie.“NI consumers love milk and drink around 150million litres of it every year. A significant proportion of this is consumed at breakfast time with cereal and milk still top of the breakfast menu. With Mega Milk, we are giving local families a very easy and natural way to boost their nutrient intake and energy levels, particularly at the start of every day when they need it most!,” he continued.
