Last Call to pupils to ‘Go For Gold’ in Dale Farm Art Competition

— Just weeks to go until closing date of ‘2012 Dreams’ Schools Campaign
— Thousands of pounds worth of sports equipment up for grabs for winning school

With entries already pouring in from across the country, Dale Farm is encouraging school children in Northern Ireland to join the race for the Dale Farm ‘2012 Dreams’ Sports Award design competition, giving them a chance to win thousands of pounds worth of sports equipment for their school.
In an attempt to encourage tomorrow’s Olympians to think about what the Games mean to them, the local dairy company has invited Primary 5, 6 and 7 children to design a circular logo for its high profile Dale Farm ‘2012 Dreams’ Sports Award, which will appear on all ceremonial medals and branding. The award – a £5,000 bursary for a potential Olympian or Paralympic contender – has previously been awarded to local boxing legend and Olympic medallist Paddy Barnes and ice skater Jenna McCorkell, proving its significance in supporting local Olympic success.
“We want pupils to draw inspiration from many areas including the 2012 Games, the history and origin of the Olympics and the connection between nutrition and sport, to design what could be the new Dale Farm ‘2012 Dreams Sports Award logo,” said Brian Beattie, head of marketing for Dale Farm.
“Our Sports Award aims to help a local athlete achieve their full potential and reach for their individual Olympic dreams but we also recognise tomorrow’s talent and want to engage all children here in the wider spirit. I hope that the design competition will go some way towards this, and I encourage any eligible pupils who have not yet entered the competition to get inspired by 2012 and pick up those paintbrushes!”
The closing date for entry in the Dale Farm ‘2012 Dreams’ Art Competition is Friday 4th of June with thousands of pounds worth of sports equipment up for grabs for the school producing the winning design.
